Background and values

I grew up near Tübingen, in southwestern Germany. This area is one of the most powerful economic hubs in Germany and Europe: locals take joy in their work, as do I.

German is my native language. As I wanted to discover Scandinavia in all its facets, I chose to study Swedish and Norwegian at the Universities of Tübingen, Uppsala and Oslo. I also have an MA in Rhetoric and Politics. For my PhD, I spent several years undertaking research within a research group at the University of Munich. My work at a Munich-based PR firm provided me with knowledge and experience of public relations activities, which benefits my clients today.

I have been working full-time as a freelance translator for more than 20 years. As a member of the Swedish translators’ association SFÖ, I have a good network within the Scandinavian translator community and undertake professional development activities. My clients include mid-sized firms, listed companies, public authorities and museums.

In my free time, I love whizzing through my local area on my bike, discovering arts and crafts in Sweden and hiking in Norway’s Valdres region.
